Primary schools competition resources

To access the primary school competition resources, please sign up on the TechFuture Girls website – - and go to ‘Coding Cove’ from the homepage. From there, select the ‘App Code’ challenge. There are two tabs within the challenge. The first explains the steps of the challenge to students, and the other – “Facilitator Support” – offers a suggested delivery guide and tips to help you deliver the activity.

Although TechFuture Girls – as the name suggests – is a club for girls, the resources are suitable for boys and girls at KS1 and 2.

The theme of the app challenge in TechFuture Girls is to design an anti-bullying app. The How2s within the App Challenge content will guide students to the TechFuture Girls course within AppShed which includes a template app. The course is a very simple step-by-step guide to creating an app, so students can have a go at customising the template provided to help them get to grips with all the AppShed functionality before having a go at creating their own app from scratch.
